Asian Logistics and Maritime Conference
The sixth Asian Logistics and Maritime Conference (ALMC) launched its two-day run at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The conference is jointly organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR). Discussions this year focus on several hot topics including China’s “Belt and Road” initiative and the 13th Five-Year Plan, and the latest development in Cross-border Ecommerce. The programme will be divided into three main tracks, namely SCM & Logistics Forum, Maritime Forum and Air Freight Forum.
More than 70 luminaries from the logistics and maritime industries are speaking at the conference. Activities on the first day include the plenary session “China’s Grand Initiatives: Where are the Opportunities?” Three high-profile speakers examined key strategies of the Chinese mainland - the Belt and Road Initiative, “Internet Plus” and “Made in China 2025”. Plenary session on day 2 will be on the latest developments in cross-border e-commerce with the topic of “Cross-border E-commerce: Who Will Rule the Game?”.
Alongside the conference, an exhibition will be staged to house around 100 exhibitors, offering e-logistics solutions as well as logistics, shipping and maritime related services. One-on-one business-matching sessions will be arranged to help exhibitors and conference participants explore new business opportunities.
With so many ever-changing trends, opportunities and challenges lying ahead, companies will need information and contacts to stay competitive and expand new markets. Here at the ALMC, you will find both - and accomplish much more. Stay tuned for more updates on our website!
